How the game works and what to check

Start with the documented Scarab feature

Scarab is one of the clearest examples of a bounded persistent-state slot: Scarab symbols mark reel positions during a 10-spin cycle, and those marked positions become wild on the tenth spin.

Check that the game matches this guide. Read the help screen, note the bet and denomination, and check what stays on the screen after each spin. A different version may have different rules.

Separate the visible fact from the inference

Scarab is one of the clearest examples of a bounded persistent-state slot: Scarab symbols mark reel positions during a 10-spin cycle, and those marked positions become wild on the tenth spin.

Useful signal

The visible spin count and the gold-bordered reel positions created by Scarab symbols.

What can mislead you

Do not treat every partially completed cycle as valuable. A late-cycle machine with weak or poorly positioned marks can be less interesting than a different state with fewer spins elapsed but stronger coverage.

Confirm on the machine

Read the current spin in the cycle, count the useful gold-bordered positions, and note where those positions sit on the reels. Position matters because wilds on earlier reels can interact with more paylines than isolated marks on the far-right side.

RecordNote the inherited positions, cycle or visible condition exactly as found.
TestCheck what survives a bet, game change or completed feature.
LimitIf the rule or probability is unknown, keep the conclusion narrow.

How the persistent cycle works

Scarab runs in a 10-spin cycle. When a Scarab symbol lands, its position is marked with a gold border. Those marked positions remain visible during the cycle. On the tenth beted spin, all marked positions transform into wild symbols for that spin, then the cycle resets.

Why the state matters

A machine abandoned partway through the 10-spin cycle can carry both remaining-spin information and already-marked positions. That means the next player may inherit progress that the previous player paid to create.

How to frame Scarab

On Scarab, machine setup, denomination, bet required for the feature and which game or bet the progress belongs to can change the conclusion. Anything not verified belongs in the uncertainty column.

Public: recognition and machine checks. Members: detailed strategy guide and entry criteria, conditional on the exact machine setup.

Machine checks

  1. Record the current cycle position and any spins or steps still available.
  2. Verify what advances, refreshes, pauses or expires the cycle.
  3. Confirm eligible bet, terminal event and post-cycle reset.
